About Mark Werrell

Motorsportcommentator.co.uk was set-up and founded by Mark Werrell in 2000. After many years involvement within motorsport it was as a result of Mark’s extension of his experience into circuit commentary that created the platform for the website. Since his early days of circuit commentary Mark has now become a very regular and popular voice at many race meetings. He now provides commentary services to all UK racing clubs and circuits, covers most club, national and international series. In addition to circuit commentary he also provides voice over, presentation and event hosting services both within and outside of the motorsport arena.

Mark is also a Brand Ambassador for the BMMC (British Motorsports Marshals Club)

Marshalling

Mark first started his involvement in motorsport as a volunteer marshal at his local circuit Cadwell Park during the 1980’s. As a member of the British Motorsport Marshals Club (BMMC) he progressed through their grading scheme from Trainee, Course, Fire & Flag Marshal to the grade Incident Officer.

Mark has marshaled throughout the country at events ranging from car, kart & truck racing (including the British GP), rallying (including the RAC Rally) and hillclimb/sprinting,

Competing

Mark eventually couldn’t shake off the motorsport bug and after a brief attempt at car racing settled for Formula TKM kart racing in the mid 1990’s. Having competed for several years in numerous championships and at the Formula TKM Festival, all with a good level of success he eventually turned his attention to motorsport commentary.

Since 2018 Mark has returned to competition, racing for GMP Developments in the C1 Challenge, including the Rockingham and Silverstone 24hr events, plus racing for both Moores Motors and Misty Racing in the Enduro KA series. These have included the IndyKA500 at Brands Hatch, the Snetterton 12hr and for 2022, the EnduroKA 24hr at Anglesey

Commentary

To say that Mark knows his stuff is an understatement! With his diverse motorsport grounding and a genuine passion for the sport he started commentating for ‘clubby’ meetings during 2000.

He can now be found throughout the world & most weekends commentating on an extremely wide variety of race meetings. Mark is one of the UK’s most exciting ‘voices’ with his uniquely balanced blend of informative, exciting, enthusiastic and well humoured commentary.

Voice Over

As a direct result of Mark’s knowledge, style and capability he also provides TV voice-over work and event hosting.

Clients have had a diverse range of requirements, usually with a motorsport theme, although not exclusively. With voice-overs on corporate DVD’s for international blue chip companies and TV commentary for Sky Sports, Channel 4, Eurosport, Motors TV, Premier Sports and Extreme Sports channels, this is an area that is seeing growing demand.
